Still feeling there were other options available to help her patients, Dr. Helm began studying Functional and Regenerative Medicine, completing her third board certification in Functional and Regenerative Medicine. She is now an Advanced Fellow in Restorative Medicine, completing the program in 2011. She maintains dual Board Certification in Family Medicine, and Functional and Regenerative Medicine.
Dr. Helm emphasizes an Integrated Medicine approach to health care, enjoying great success in helping patients of all ages for the last 14 years using knowledge gained from traditional western and alternative medicine. Her practice focuses on searching out and treating the root causes of of disease and not just managing symptoms. Her partnership based approach with patients creates personalized, achievable care plans using a wide range of therapies.

Dr. Kyla Helm-Swanson, MD received her Medical Doctorate from the University of South Dakota School of Medicine in 1993 and completed her Family Practice Residency in 1999. Realizing that many of her patients were not getting better with traditional Western medicine therapies, she began searching for alternative medical options to help her patients.
As part of her medical education journey, Dr. Helm became a certified Physician Acupuncturist through the UCLA Acupuncture for Physician Course in 2001 and was Board Certified in Pain Medicine in 2004.
